About Us
Crosby Nursery was established in September 2005. It is owned by James and Maria Sedgwick who also own Newtown Road Nursery.
The nursery is situated in the rural village of Crosby On Eden, 5 miles north of Carlisle, open Monday to Friday 8am till 6pm for 51 weeks of the year.
The nursery has five bright airy playrooms which provide age related learning environments.
The nursery has a wonderful large outdoors where the children explore and enjoy the outdoor world.
The nursery is managed by Sarah Cooper who has been with the nursery since it opened. She holds the following qualifications: Early Year Practitioner Status, Child Care Learning and Development Level 6, NVQ 5 in Management & the NNEB Certificate - Diploma in Nursery Nursing.
The nursery's chef is Gary who ensures all the children receive a well-balanced diet and makes all food fresh on the premises. For more information please see Healthy Living.

The house was named after a racehorse around 1850 and was known as The Laughingstock Inn and Coach House. It was one of three pubs in the village of Crosby On Eden. Laughingstock House was a girl’s school in the Second World War.
