Outdoor Play

At Newtown Road Day Nursery, staff value the importance of outdoor play and learning. The great outdoors is the very best place for children to practise and master emerging physical skills. However outdoor play has much more to offer than physical skills, we see our outdoor as an extension of the indoor learning environment. During their time in our care all children will enjoy outdoor play and learning whatever the weather. Children enjoy wearing rainproof suits and wellies to splash in puddles and when it is sunny they develop their understanding of sun safety by wearing their sun hats and putting sun cream on.

Newtown Road Day nursery has a secure front garden. There is a variety of outdoor resources based in the garden including a play house, bikes, cars and outdoors games. The nursery also benefits from a secure natural 'woodland' area to the rear of the nursery which has a fort, mud kitchen, exploration table, a water wall and planting boxes.
